The End

So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish

Retrospring terminated service on June 12, 2016.

Retrospring tried to be a different approach to question/answer communities while also keeping a focus on privacy.

When the project started in late 2014 we never imagined that it would grow so big, merely being a website trying to be more social than others.

A more social approach and also handling several other issues that other competitors had seemed easy in the beginning, however without the necessary experience it just didn’t work out in the long run.

We also have always been just a small site compared to all of the others around. As those have already established bigger communities and more popularity across all major networks, they made it even harder for us to get people to try our site and stay with us.

Thank you to everyone who helped bring Retrospring to life, be it by spreading the word, letting us know what you liked (and disliked), or by simply using the site. You taught us so much, and we’re deeply grateful.

You can also host your own instance of Retrospring (just like Modernspring is doing). The entire Retrospring source code is available on Github and the full installation instructions can be found in the repository’s wiki.
