How do you let someone you fancy know that you are into them?

I start singing "Here's your one chance, Fancy, don't let me down" and do the guitar sounds with my mouth.

Before I met my husband? I would ignore them and pretend I didn’t notice them. Not sure why I thought that would work 🤷‍♀️

Tell them. There’s no use pretending to be friends with someone for three years while you secretly pine for them, hoping against hope that one day they’ll turn around and declare their undying love for you. It’s not going to happen. Because, to them, you’re a friend. This is precisely how you get these poor sods complaining all over the internet that they’ve been ‘friend zoned’. They’ve played at being a friend, and guess what, their friend thinks they’re a friend. Jesus!

I either say nothing at all or flirt hard until I admit it, there’s really no in between.

That's a game I don't want to play, too difficult. If I feel they're comfortable talking about that, I'd tell them directly. But in practice that never happens and it's usually them who takes the initiative.

It was pretty much drilled into me that if I did that I would be labeled a “volada” (nice way of saying some’s a hoe), and I so very much wanted my mother’s and society’s approval so I didn’t do anything that’s too forward. I was simply polite, engage in conversation and follow their lead. It would look a lot like when you simply value someone’s friendship. My husband was taught the same by his mother so for months I simply thought my husband was only interested in me as a friend.
