How many times does it take for you to capture the perfect selfie? Do you have a specific method for doing this?

Generally if I have to take a picture of myself I use the "take a video and then screenshot a frame I like" technique because otherwise it will take forever to get something I don't hate.

I only try once or twice, but I cbf to do it until I happen to take a perfect pic.

My most efficient method is having a stranger doing it ;) But when I want to tell stories it needs a lot of care and many many tries. Also since I am making goofy faces and weird crumble faces too 19 out of 20 shots are litter. When none of the takes look worth it then I am inclined to erase all of them. The perfect one often isn't perfect. I mean there might be blurred parts due to movement, or unsharp things, focus is off, lighting is bad. All this might be there but it can be still a shot I like. Due to it telling my story. So while I aim at a perfect picture, it is often less than that in technical terms.

I usually open the camera when I feel like it, snap two or three selfies, and that's it. Not much time spent, but not much quality either, since I don't look too good.
