When I was in London I found a young guy laying on the ground unconsciously at night and he didn't react when i tried to wake him up. My friends and me called an ambulance. Do you think it was the right thing to do or was it exagerated and we should have just let him lay there and assume he just had to sober up by himself? He didn't seem like a homeless person if that makes a difference

I think you did the right thing. It can't hurt to make sure of it, what you did is what a kind-hearted person would do. A careless person would walk straight past

Yeah, I think that's the right thing. I think it's a terrible idea to just leave be any unresponsive person on the ground, regardless of what they look like, smell like, or whatever.

I have no idea. I guess people should call an ambulance whenever someone is lying unconscious on the ground, because some/many of those times it's an actual emergency. If he was just passed out drunk, I guess it's kind of his own fault for not planning well.

You did the right thing, as long as you didn't frisk him for extra spending money!

I think I'm missing some details here. How was he unconscious, was he slumped over like a drunk person? was he laying down out of the way? Was he in the way of other people? Was their anyway close by he could've potentially jumped from?

Regardless, I think you did the right thing, If you didn't, and that man showed up on the news I think you and your friends would've regretted ignoring him

The same thing happened to me, except it was during the day. The guy was lying on the pavement - well dressed, not smelling of alcohol - and people were just stepping over him! I checked he was breathing, pinched his ear, and called an ambulance. People were saying that he was just drunk and to leave him alone, but I couldn’t not do something. I would like someone to help me if I was in that position, and I’d do the same thing again today. You did the right thing.

You did the right thing. Don’t second guess yourself. That is someone’s loved one. What would you have wanted someone to do if it were your brother/sister?
