Nope. Civilisation sees many more or less imminent threats but does nothing.

There'd be a lot more movies and TV shows about aliens, especially regarding their conflicts with humanity, and military spending, maybe especially the space-based stuff, would go way up. It might also give rise to some sort of global military alliance, it might affect the politics between nations, might make them more unified. Hostility toward all aliens real and imagined would increase dramatically, so those aliens who are visiting us currently might be more dissuaded and rarer to witness. I'd like the think we might pull together to get rid of a global threat... but our attempts at managing climate change doesn't fill me with too much optimism.

There would be much weeping and wailing and pulling of hair for a week and then we’d carry on as normal because it won’t really affect us.

Suddenly everyone will want to become a scientist or something and carbon emissions will go up and there will be an increase in memes

Half this country would be terrified of them, and half would want to have sex with them at any rate we must prepare, so the military needs another 300 trillion dollars for tachyon beams or whatever, so no, nothing would change is what I'm saying
