What do you do to save energy costs?

The last year that was in Iran, I didn't have a proper heater. I just had a small electric heater that I used to turn on when at nights while keeping it besides my bed. I used to wear lots of clothes at home. I did all this to save money. Also the last month's electric bill was 0 rials for me! Apparently if you use electricity below a certain point, you don't need to pay anything. Apparently I used below the limit.

Put on a hoody, open the oven when its cooling down after use and using my washing up to heat the house a little (soaking things for a while rather than cleaning straight away).

this reminds me of a tiktok I saw where a guy was in a coma and his son was like 'I know what I have to do' and he goes to touch the thermostat and Dad bolts up out of his coma to yell at him to leave it alone...anyway I live a fairly minimalist lifestyle so nothing out of the ordinary, the most energy-consuming thing I do is travel, so I try to do less of that

Sometimes I turn my light and/or TV off when I leave the room for a while. And sometimes I turn off lights in the living room, dining room and kitchen when nobody's in there.
