Did the ancient greeks really believe in their gods?
Nah, it was a prank
Probably
I suppose - but I don't get the impression that their gods really demanded belief and worship from the mortals the way the God of Abraham and Baby Jeebus do...like mortals only show up to do some feats or get knocked up by Posiedon or whoever
Yes.
I've struggled with writing more but every time it'll end up in a longer answer, so just yes
Of course. No less than todays believers.
maybe not
Some did. Some didn't. Just like today there was push back
I suppose it would’ve been like today. Some would be fervent believers. Some would believe because they were brought up to believe and they never questioned it. Some would pretend to believe because the consequences of doing otherwise would be dangerous. And a few would openly snub them.
Some did, some didn't
who really knows
