How do the recent rapid developments in artificial intelligence make you feel?

Scurrd and worried. Technology is so useful in improving our lives, but as always people strive for power and control… so you know it ain’t gonna end well.

This morning I finished listening to Lex Fridman's interview with Sam Altman, creator of ChatGPT, GPT-4, DALL-E. Before, I was mainly concerned about job opportunities in the future. However, they discussed some topics which are both fascinating and scary at the same time. For example, they talked about the disadvantages of centralized government systems and how a super intelligent AI model can replace them. And then they talked about different groups building their own AGI models and letting them collectively govern ... I mean, it was getting weird at the end of the podcast.

It's the same as I've always said, sociopathic techbros and politicians will crawl into bed together and use it as a toy to fuck everybody else

I'm a bit uneasy about it all, clearly we need to adopt it in a controlled way as it can achieve amazing things. But we have to as a human race agree where the line in when it comes to freedoms we will give the programmes... if we play with fire, we can't be surprised if we get burned.

As I expected it's use is heavily focused on dumbfuck. At least in the public space. In technical application it is nothing very new. The factual lack of intelligence is one thing and the astonishing ability of sensing another. Engineers love the latter. Public users focus on the "artificial" aspect and less on "intelligence". As the social media space is leaning heavily to the selffullfillment prophecy thing inside the echo chambers of social bubbles AI is just another dumbass voice that is used to promote and reference to nonsense and non-facts. As such it is amplifying shit there.

I think it's interesting what kinds of things you can do with the technology as it is now, but I also think that all the buzz is mostly from companies who want to cash in on the latest trend in tech.

Eh, humans messed this world up enough, let's give the AI a chance. Lol I for one welcome our new mechanical overlords and offer my services to round up humans for the silicone mines😁

A little excited for what's possible / going to be possible, and a little angry for how the technology will be / is being abused

Well, I am a litter afraid...I'm just glad there's no supercomputer that has a super evil artificial intelligence bent on world domination inside an abandoned factory in this world.
