[Stolen from Reddit] What baby name immediately makes you lose all respect for the parents and why?

Once upon a time it happened to me, and I just really think it sucks an ass and a half when someone names their kid after themselves. I don't know anyone who was named after a parent who is or was living for it, and yet people keep doing it. I even know people who were named after their parent, hated that, and then still named their kid after themselves and that parent. iT'S a tRaDiTiOn. Well, so is cockfighting, but that doesn't mean you should do it.

In the UK, some people think it’s a fantastic idea to call their precious little darling after an entire football team. Like every name of every player. Oh, what fun! Personally, I think they should be charged under the Geneva Convention. That’s a crime against humanity if ever there was one!

It would have to be something ridiculous like Brick or Cup. Even then, I try to respect everybody at least a little bit.

It’s none of my business, and I won’t “lose” respect, unless it’s something horrible that will cause problems for the child, like… “Labia” or “vajeen” etc. y’know

Babies named after car makes, business terms, false latin, ancient germanic terms, and many more.

I'm not really, seriously fussed about what somebody names their larva, as long as they are not raising an entitled prick, I can deal

I'm not sure I could lose 'all respect' for someone over a child name. But some will make me role my eyes, Elon's kid for example is just silly, North West sounds like a bad joke...

Some really RIDICULOUS spelling of a common name, naming your child after a type of alcohol (Alizé, Hennessy, etc.), Hayden Kayden Jayden. Why? I’m not exactly sure.
