i think u slightly missed a point of the whole discussion which is not primarily about it wether it’s sexual / non-sexual but about member x member fanfiction treatment in comparison of y/n x member fanfiction, different in perception when we compare queer-like dynamics and hetero-like dynamics, when the first one is always in all cultures is just reduced to only sexual interactions just like u did in your retro lol

even so, assuming that no one is “sitting down” to read a g-rated fic is so fundamentally wrong that idk even what to say to you, especially with the huge amount of people who write only g-rated romance (and do it exceptionally well). and people read them because imagine! they do sit down to read a g rated fic about the dynamic they love.
