For how much is "far longer"? Like. The entire Question Arcs perhaps? Or does Higurashi keep the Horror the whole time?

Hmm. I think it will vary for people, but for me I felt like Higurashi maintained it up until the 7th chapter, which is where the horror element lessened by a lot. But it definitely maintains it through the first 5 chapters at a minimum, in my opinion...
