Law finds a way to travel back in time to save Cora from being shot by Doffy but overshoots and meets Rosi as a kid instead. This is after Doffy shoots his dad so he's balling his eyes out with no Doffy in sight. Law wouldn't forgive himself if he left to save the Cora he knew so he brings young Rosi back to the present with him.
The kicker is that he doesn't tell his crew about this. He says "it didn't work" and locks himself in his room for a while. Tells everyone not bother him unless if there was an emergency until he feels fit enough to be their captain again. Of course the Heart Pirates would understand completely! "Take all the time you need, Captain!" They all think it must have gone terribly.
Meanwhile, Law hid Rosi away without telling anyone because he doesn't know what the hell has gotten into him. What will his crew think? What will he do with Rosi? Why won't the kid talk? This wasn't the original plan but he can't just turn back now or drop young Rosi on someone else. He has to take care of him.
This is leading up to Law grooming Rosi.
Imagine he has been harbouring feelings for Corazon for years. Here he is as a young traumatized kid who is also deathly afraid of him.
He wants him to like him. Selfishly, he want Rosi to like him before meeting the rest of the crew and maybe he doesn't meet them at all. He wants Rosi to be attached to him and no one else.
Law spends all his time with him and even bathes with him. He tries at first to reason with himself that what he's doing isn't that bad. It takes so much time to get Rosi to trust him. And when he does, he's rewarded by such honest trust from the man he loves in the form of the cutest little kid.
Law eventually starts slipping. His hands drift lower. He let's little Rosi sit on his lap while they read together. He's so innocent that there's no way that he would know that he purposely makes Rosi rub up against his dick. Treats it as normal to walk around without a shirt on. Then he does a "medical examination" on him. Law has been planning this for weeks because he doesn't want to undo all the hard work of getting Rosi to like him. they'd be so codependent, law is very possessive and rosi has some bad separation anxiety. i also love the idea of law slowly trying to make rosi wear clothes similar to the ones corazon used to wear, or suggesting that he puts on lipstick. i'm thinking of a slightly older rosi (let's say 14/15?) getting super jealous after law moans out "cora-san" instead of his name while they have sex. law didn't mean to do that, it's just that the more rosi grows the more he resembles the rosinante law knew and it turns him on so badly. sadly rosi doesn't know that, so he resorts to "competing" with his older self. he has to show law that he can be a good lover because what if law gets tired of his clumsiness? what if law decides to leave him for this cora person? (little does he know law would never allow him to get away, would rather trap him on the tang than lose him again)
