Hello! I saw your tweet about baku being called noppo and there’s actually lore to it if you don’t know! So basically when the music video for how to eat life came out the animator mariyasu shared character concepts where he was called noppo (Tobi was called Inochi but that’s something for another day) and for three long years the fandom knew him as noppo so to some people it’s difficult to do the name change me thinks!
oh, i am aware! i imagine i would also be someone extremely stubborn about the name change if i had been around for it lol. i'm actually quite used to seeing people call tobi inochi, and it doesn't really bother me when i see it. i just have annoyingly strong opinions on baku's name, because i think it's a shame to use the old one when baku has such a cute meaning. i like the contrast of it between his actual personality

wh what if r. rei and tobi play a horror game
rei thinks of tobi as this cool and confident guy and then immediately has that perception crushed right after they hit the start button. tobi is jumping anytime they open the menu screen. baku has to be put in another room because he keeps shouting. rei is somehow better than tobi at something and he doesn’t know what to do with himself
also, concept: q-ta sits next to/on rei while they’re playing and rei uses him as a stress ball when he gets scared (q-ta enjoys the attention. it’s like a massage)

do you think tobi and shalem has any similarities
oh!! my two guys!! i shockingly can’t think of many… shalem is someone who’s constantly worried about what people think about him, and tobi is someone who could not care less. the main one i can think of is that they’re both very distant/antisocial characters—although tobi has been shown to genuinely enjoy being around people, provided they’re able to see zingai and understand his world. couldn’t be shalem. that guy would need extensive therapy and potentially medication before he could actively seek out companionship (not that tobi does much of that himself lol).
of course the obvious answer to this question is that they both are utterly and completely mentally ill. that’s just the kind of character i’m drawn to i suppose.

where do you think Tobi usually lives? other than going in and out of Rei’s house
i think the agents probably gave him a dorm room, because if they didn’t i don’t know where he’d sleep… though that would make sense as to why he’s basically moved in with rei lol. he doesn’t seem super fond of the agents anyway, so being with rei is probably preferable, even if he’s just sleeping on the couch. if there’s a gap between when he left the facility and joined the agents, i wouldn’t be surprised if he just slept on the streets for a while. he seems stubborn enough to do it
i know mariyasu’s doodles aren’t technically canon, but there’s one (the one with the cockroach) where it looks like he’s hanging out in an apartment. so i like to think he gets his own place after knk
