No. I mean, as a child, I had a special fondness for a couple of them. I dunno if people look back on that and think it was a "crush", though. I loved them, I still love them wherever they are, because they were kind people. I thought they were just really nice gals, and it's weird to think they were so old to me then but they were like nearly a decade younger than I am right now.

My 2nd grade teacher was a Cambodian migrant, and I saw parents and few of their kids actually be racist at her and she'd appear so unfazed. Which, I couldn't really understand at the time. I recognized that the parents were being dicks, I just don't think I understood why. But it was during this 2nd grade period that my dad was thinking he'd homeschool us, because he has all kinds of bad ideas you have to try to talk him out of. When he told her he was thinking of taking me out of school she teared up and was like "Is (me) not happy in my class?" And that was just so, I mean it was sad, but it really let you know how much she actually cared about her students. Because she was personally attacked for who she was, and didn't show a crack on the outside about it, which shouldn't be expected of people. But, at the thought that she had somehow "failed" a student, she cried.

Anyway, he didn't end up trying the ol' homeschool.
