i’m ngl i usually really like the characters that align with this trope bc i see some part of myself in them or relate to them really well; once someone explained that their purpose is to save the male main character it really ruined it for me. i like manic pixie dream girls but i’d wanna see a film about a bunch of them being friends instead of moving the plot forward for some man >:c
