2 years may seem long but my advice is to write whenever you're ready. If it starts to feel like nothing comes out, don't pressure yourself or else you'll burn out! ㅠㅠ It's okay to focus on different interest and hobbies while taking a break and it doesn't matter how long that would take, it's easier to return to writing when you lose the thought of being restricted.

With language skills, I relate with this too because I speak 2 languages aside from english, and it's always a challenge to find the right words that best translate a particular phrase from your own language to another. Exposing yourself to the language you want to improve is still the best way for me, reading a lot of fics and watching tv shows is the way to go.

Another thing, you can always simplify your writing. It doesn't always have to be complicated especially if you're still starting, and you can also start with shorter fics too like drabbles and soc med aus, what's important is that you send the message of your fic across your readers in the clearest way possible.
