If people do bad things while drinking, should we blame the alcohol or the person?

Alcohol is a factor, as it impairs judgement, but it doesn't completely absolve someone of personal responsibility either.

There are people who are sober as fuck and insane as in psychopath sick. Should we blame the drinking water? The alcohol loosens the barrier and controls behind which there is more of the true self.

Alcohol shouldn't be blamed for anything, as far as I'm concerned. It's not a mind or body controller. Actions are always the responsibility of the person and the person alone. Blaming alcohol is cowardice.

The person. Worst thing I've probably ever done when drunk was tell random ladies at the club that I love them after trying to dry hump a standing fan but instead fell over. My dad when he's drunk has angrily yelled at my mom and physically gotten aggressive with her (push against furniture). We are not the same. Alcohol doesn't magically change people, it just lifts their inhibitions so that whatever's underneath can come crawling out

The person - once you start drinking in life, if you decide to do so, you learn pretty fast what kind of drunk you are - some of us sulk about the cruel nature of the universe, some of us laugh loudly and sing badly, some of us haplessly hit on the bartender, a few of us turn into rage monsters, some of us are all of the above...it is incumbent upon you to understand what you're like and to have enough respect not to unleash that person upon those around you
