What are your thoughts on Donald Trump being banned or restricted on various social media platforms?

No shirt. No shoes. No service. The government isn’t sensoring him. Too bad, so sad. Should have just followed the rules. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Even as someone who would feel entertained if he killed himself (not so much out of hatred, but for interesting news) I don't think banning him was worth it.

It took them 206 and a half weeks out of a 208 week presidency. Bravo! Their bravery is astonishing.

Seriously, they are private companies, they can do (or NOT do) whatever they like. They are not public services. It’s up to them who they let on or throw off their platforms. The problem is, they say one thing and do another; which isn’t good show for any business.

Honestly they've empowered him and supporters more than ever because now he's a martyr now.

Concerned people are spinning it all sorts of ways (ex. "if they can censor the POTUS they can censor us too!"), but the fact of the matter is, the 1st Amendment explicitly does NOT protect advocacy of force or violence that leads to "imminent lawless action" (which is I believe how the SCOTUS phrases it). That's what Trump did, and he won't be protected for it. I don't always agree with the law but it's a relief to see that, for once, the president isn't above the law

It's been a long time coming. The real tragedy is they didn't start fact checking him until only recently. I forget where exactly, but somewhere in southeast asia (Myanmar?) the ruling party there weaponized disinformation through platforms like Facebook in order to stay in power and kill dissidents. That's clearly where we were headed.
