Yay or Nay: Vampires are sexy
Does this answer your question? https://i.imgur.com/GqoQYrD.jpg
I’ve wondered this before. When did vampires go from being Nosferatu (https://www2.bfi.org.uk/sites/bfi.org.uk/files/styles/full/public/image/nosferatu-1922-001-max-shreck-bedside-00n-2r5.jpg) to sex gods? I don’t know. Was it Anne Rice’s doing (‘Interview With the Vampire’), or was it happening before?Serial killers in fiction have become much more clever and sophisticated over the last few decades (think Hannibal Lecter) and are now portrayed as more heroic generally. Today they’re attractively flawed humans rather than indiscriminate butchers. And vampires have suffered the same fate. Biting someone’s jugular at the neck is a very intimate act, and intimacy = sex to film producers. To sell your film you must have good-looking actors, so vampires now look like Tom Cruise and Robert Sex-On-A-Stick Pattison.
Female ones sure. Funny u say that i had a dream I took a vampire in, it looked like a monster. I nursed it back to health and it started to turn human. By the end of the dream it turned into Taylor swift
what does it all mean.. 🤣
In some stories extremely so, not so much in others. Depends on style and habits I think. Intense sex appeal is often regarded as something overwhelming and demanding and soul stealing and energy bleeding, hence sucking life out of a person in a way. Which might explain the sexyness of some vampires?
There are depictions of vampires that are supposed to be sexy whether I like it or not. And I don't like it, it's boring af, so in that respect it's a nay from me. Although, I think the thing that happened where people wanted to be dicked down by terrors is pretty interesting. Especially considering that for a long time, Movie Monsters were often queer-coded, and just being a monster was used as a Hays Code era metaphor for being gay.
