Jennifer Aniston has gone viral after saying that social media influencers are 'famous for basically doing nothing'... is she right?
Damn, y'all hate the hell out of this woman
Yeah, she's right, though. Only thing is, being famous isn't really a reward for work or effort that lasts or seems valuable or useful to a lot of people, anyway. I mean, you can be famous for being the 'ugliest' dog in the world. So it's just kind of fucked up that people think fame = effort I value.
I try not to have anything to do with ‘influencers’ - I can’t even begin to tell you how much I despise them - but I know some of them put quite a lot of effort into their posts. But ultimately, getting dressed up in free gear, poncing around posing for pictures, and lying about what a wonderful life you have solely in order to make people feel jealous and worthless, doesn’t seem to be much like hard work. But, there again, neither does getting paid vast sums of money to stand in front of a camera, pulling faces while reading words someone else has written. (Why actors persist in telling us how hard they work, I do not know!) Let’s face it, Jennifer Anderson is never going to win an Oscar for her acting abilities, and if she hadn’t married Brad Pitt, would we still even know who she was? (Okay, ‘Friends’ reruns, I know. But name me two films [other than the dog one] that she’s been in. I’ll wait.) Maybe she’s annoyed because she’s not getting offered pots of cash to flog stuff on the internet? Maybe she’s attempting to up her online presence? Maybe it’s a case of the pot calling the kettle black?
It may be true for some influencers, not for others. I think a lot of them put a lot of work and/or talent into their craft. And some of them may be popular just for being pretty or having a certain kind of personality. But I don't know what Jennifer Aniston's point is, life isn't and never has been even remotely fair. Some people just have lots of money or fame for doing little to nothing, some people live on the street for reasons beyond their control, etc. I don't understand why everyone is so quick to attack Jennifer over this though and criticize her acting. She's a great actor, and what she said isn't 100% wrong.
Kinda, I know ppl are saying she's not much better while I don't love her acting atleast what she did however bland is a form of acting. It's a craft that she learned. Even if you don't think she's good at it. "Influencers" do nothing, have no real talent imo.
That is a sentence that applies to some more jobs than influencers though it isn't fully true in all cases.
I don't know
