UK citizens are now automatically opted-in for organ donation upon death. What are your thoughts on this? (and would you opt in or out?)

I hate it and would opt out. My body, my choice. Also, I wouldn't trust hospitals not to kill me or let me die so they could use my organs. This is yet more proof that government thinks they own people. Even if they let you opt out, you shouldn't have to. You should have to opt in if you want. #Anarchism #Voluntaryism

I’m opted in. In the USA, we usually declare whether we’d like to be donors or not when we obtain our driver’s license.

Sounds very intrusive on the part of your government. People should have some say in the comings and goings of their biology, be it posthumously or while still alive.

Sharing organs seems irksome and Frankensteinian to me, but I guess it's the compassionate thing to do.

Personally I think it should be the other way around, the default should be out with the opt-in available - you or an approved next of kin should have to specifically authorize what happens to your remains - if no one or there are any doubts, then no action should be taken on the remains - feels over the line to me...I'm curious - how do they square this with certain religions who have specific burial customs or beliefs that are conflicting? if someone of that faith somehow dies without opting out are they just going to be defiled?
