I had a friend/acquaintance/chat buddy once who said that the song 'Fur Elise' is just corrupting. Do you think it's corrupting? Do you know what the heck he was talking about?

that's wild; maybe he means that it's difficult to think outside the box, outside tonal music/whatever? or maybe for him that music evokes bad things

Years ago there was McDonald's commercial… that didn't help this.

Beethoven’s Für Elise? It’s just a piece of music - no lyrics. I can’t see how you could be corrupted by a fairly innocuous piece of music. There are a couple of songs by other people titled the same, maybe it was one of them? I don’t understand.

Not everybody loves/likes Beethoven. For some people, he awakens discomfort. Even if he is tender, like in "Für Elise".
