4.3mbps down, 3.8mbps up. Can't complain too much about rural internet, better than dial-up or satellite.
Is the latency meme real with satellite? I mean it's theoretically bound to be high, but is it noticeable when casually browsing?
Not when casually browsing really, but it made online gaming nearly impossible. Wow especially was really bad, even just solo questing was a nightmare.
regularly got 800ms+ latency, and it got worse with weather.
it's only 3.3x the ideal latency (no atmosphere, direct line of sight up/downlink in geosynchronous orbit), that's actually impressive
(0.5*800ms)/((35793km)/c) -> (400ms measured)/(119.4ms ideal)
