How long can you describe how you cook spaghetti, step by step, to an Italian before offending them?

First you cook the noodles, then you add canned sauce, and there's the offense.

In Italian? Not one second. In German? Important to use pasta without eggs. I don't intend to offend them so if he or she cannot forgive me for making a mistake, it is not my problem.
