Wanderlust isn't a german word. So how did it come to life?

It's English. Wander + lust = a desire to travel to many places. You might be thinking of "Keine Lust" the Rammstein song.

I had no idea it wasn't, maybe an English speaker took those two words and constructed it the the German compound word kind of style?
