What the hell is driving authors to let my most beloved characters to always die? I often stop watching or reading the last parts of a story since I think they'll damage it all for me that way!

This is more of a TV/movie thing, but what happens to me is that the woman I'm the most attracted to always ends up being the villain and betrays/kills a good guy
