It seems impossible to find some tomatoes with some scent and taste. Only red water balls. Damn! You have some with taste?

Yeah most of what you get in the average grocery store is disappointing, the only thing I buy there is potatoes, which are just a delivery system for fat and salt anyway...for fresh produce I go to a farmer's market during the summer/fall and freeze whatever will keep for the winter (thawed tomatoes you can pretty much only use for stews and sauces and such)

i heard that a few decades ago they had a lot more taste. they were so strong they'd actually burn. i think the problem is the topsoil has become depleted of nutrients.
