Thoughts on businesses that don’t enforce local/state/federal mask mandates in their place of business?

Difficult. I think that businesses that intentionally ignore mask mandates should be forced to close if they are repeatedly caught not asking customers to wear a mask. However, the government basically made basic retail workers play police. If I were working in a shop and someone would show aggression toward me when I try to enforce mask mandate, even if I exercise the domiciliary right if the business, I would not ask again and risk a dangerous confrontation. That’s not my fucking job.

Thoughts on people needing business staff to remind them about behaving like a reasonable social being?

I've taken the position that since the government has mostly decided to throw up its hands and leave people on their own, I'm not judging how anybody deals with the pandemic anymore, there is an intentional effort to throw blame on individuals - unvaccinated, shop owners, etc. and it's a propaganda campaign to distract from the utter failure of systems and leadership of both parties

I imagine its hard to enforce for some businesses (i.e. hotels, large workplaces, museums and attractions), but those 'masks are for pussies' kind of littles shops you see in America... sigh its just annoying when people think they are above the law. But I tend to think karma has its ways.

Why put your staff at risk from the Karen's of this world by trying to enforce laws? They're not law enforcement whether it be FBI, California Highway Patrol or a Sheriff. It's the same here, shops will put up the signs, but at the end of the day they're not police officers.

I'm very tired of people who think masks for CONTAGIOUS VIRIONS are a personal choice and not a matter of public health. Fuck off
