Yeh, I met an online friend who lived in Alabama when I was 15 and she was 17. It wasn't a special trip for that, I was allowed to do it because my dad was driving my grandmother's belongings to Florida for her after she'd moved there. We played some games, we ate some Domino's. We were still friends for a few years after that, but we grew apart during those few years. She had a baby when she was 19 and we gradually stopped corresponding altogether. I met two guys from a pathfinder forum about 6 years ago. I didn't make a special trip for that either, they just lived near where my mom was living and I was visiting her. I liked them, but our friendship definitely petered out right after that. Other than that, I made a friend on grindr and we only got to meet once irl before the lockdown. Last time I talked to her she seemed less enthusiastic than she was right before and right after we met, but these are SAD times.
That actually did take place a couple of weeks ago. We started t o play "battleship" online, then took it to facetiming while playing, then to meeting irl. The person changed a lot. From an idealised image of loveliness to a touchable fault ridden and defective human that I like even more. I still feel that the idealised image still is often an overlay to the real person. It is like double vision. I need new corrective glasses anyway...
yea, I've met people on csgo who I met up with irl because I was moving to the same city/going to the same school later that month. we went boating. I almost died of heat stroke but it was a good day ! stopped being friends with that group though because one of the loudest dudes in the group wouldn't shut the fuck up about his conservative ass views.
I've also done my fair share of dating apps where I also meet them in person after a little bit. most of the time they are fine people irl, but maybe we don't share the same sense of humor or smth so we don't vibe as much tbh, and it turns out to be a one-time thing. but every now and then there is someone I get along with particularly well and we keep in touch, but in a limited capacity because life is busy and we're all depressed
Only for a day, so that doesn't count. But we had also a good time offline.
