What do you look for/value the most when going into a new piece of media? (I.E. learning something new or a trope you really enjoy)

oh that's a good question! hmm, I suppose it really depends on the media? for movies i think I look more for entertainment, admittedly what I find entertaining is either something cozy or something that toys with established genre tropes. Video games for me are 99% of the time my detox/ relax time so you'll rarely see me playing any competitive team based game because those are anxiety city or me. but I guess if I had to have a golden rule for everything I prefer story crafting over "learning something" and tend to gravitate more towards media that's not necessarily trying to reinvent the wheel or tell me why the wheel is actually bad.

or it can just have coordinated teams and fighting prolly and I'll mark for that.
