Hi! I ordered the full digital bundle of the zine, and received a confirmation email. Since it is a digital bundle. I was just wondering- how do I open it to view the items purchased? When I click on it, it just brings me back to the website
Hello! Sorry for the delay in response. I know we made a post about this yesterday but I still wanted to personally answer your question. The zine link will be sent out to all of those who ordered it when it is completed around February. If you don't get anything around then, then you should reach back out to us. Thank you for ordering and sorry for any confusion.
Is this zine sfw?
Hello! Sorry for the lateness in response to this.
Because of the nature of some of the topics, the zine is being marketed as over 18. There may be some triggering topics that will be labeled in the table of contents and before the contribution.
I hope this makes sense. If you have any further questions please feel free to reach out.
Your previous art mod stepped down recently. Do the remaining zine mods plan to be transparent about what happened?
Hello! Head Mod Fenyx here specifically to answer this question. Sorry it took some time to get around to it, illness has been had (not an excuse but a reason for the lateness). There were some decisions made to bring in another contributor that were not fully discussed with the whole team and there were some different viewpoints on how the whole process should have gone down. There are no hard feelings from the remaining mods and the previous art mod who decided to step away. We understand their decision and have decided to move ahead without replacing them and staying with just the singular art mod instead of two. We are really sorry to see them ago as we did enjoy working with them, but we understand where they are coming from.
I would like to inquire as to the experience of the mods!
We will be posting this information later today or tomorrow. Sorry for taking the time to answer this question. We just want everything worded correctly and cohesively.
There's an about section for the mods in your zine info doc, but there's no experience listed for anyone. I would appreciate knowing about any zine experience the mods have, especially the finance mod.
We will be posting this information later today or tomorrow. Sorry for taking the time to answer this question. We just want everything worded correctly and cohesively.
Your information document says that 'light nsfw' is allowed, what does that actually mean?
We are very glad that you asked us this question. We as stated in a recent tweet are going to have a mod meeting to better clarify what we mean by this. We will resend out the info doc once we have updated this post meeting. Sorry for any confusion this may have caused and our delay in response to your question.
Do the writing samples provided need to be BNHA/mental health focused?
Sorry we are just getting to this as applications are about to close, but they do not need to be BNHA themed or mental health focused. Although, it would be a big bonus if they at least involved mental health in some way so we could see how you would address this specific topics.
Will you be notifying people as you go through contributor apps if you know you want someone to join or will all emails go out at the same time? I know I've seen some zines have contributors notified and announced while contributor apps are still open so wondering if you will be or if no one will know till the 19th
Sorry we took some time to answer this. Mods got busy with real life things.
We will be sending all notifications out at once.
aaaaaaaah! I'm so excited for this zine!! ^A^ do the mods know how many ppl they're gonna accept yet???
Hello! Sorry it took a bit of time to answer this question.
We are still a bit in discussion, but we are thinking about 15-20 artists and 10-15 writers for the main zine. Merch is still in discussion.
There has already been an MHA zine in the past with this same name, I would recommend changing your title.
Hello and thank you for bringing this to our attention!
At this time we have reached out to the Head Mod of the other zine to discuss the name situation and how they would like to address it as well. We had no idea this was a thing in the couple of months we had been around and want to make sure that everyone involved is aware of the situation.
Hi, I noticed that you require contributors to give an exact age, but we don't know the ages of the mods, you just say 18+. It makes me feel a bit uncomfortable with the project to be honest, that mods are not willing to hold themselves to the same requirements that contributors have.
Hello!
It was never our attention to have people feel uncomfortable regarding ages and the mods team.
You're totally valid to feel this way, and we're apologizing for that.
All our mods are over 18:
Mod Fenyx is 29yo
Mod Taela is 38yo
Mod Denny is 30yo
Mod Luke is 29yo
Thank you for bringing up this issue! We hope that knowing all the mods age will sooth all doubt and fear about our project.
When will the interest check results be posted?
Hello. We are just finishing up compiling the interest check questions and should have it posted no later than Friday May 20th. Sorry for the bit of delay.
I don't feel comfortable putting my age in the application form. Can I just write 18+?
While we understand your concern, we as a mod team need to know everyone's actual age. Only the moderator team will be able to see the applications and no information from the application will be made public.
I find it upsetting that the mod apps are asking for identifying information on specific coping skills. This is potentially asking someone to share all their past trauma events.
Thank you for reaching out to us. We are sorry that this question was put on there. We have since removed it from all applications and it will no longer be included going forward. We apologize for this matter.
I find it upsetting that the Mindful MHA mod apps are asking for personal coping mechanisms - which can be used to narrow down diagnoses or provide other private information on a person, leading to discrimination based on disorder - as a question in the app. The presence of the question, even if not required, makes it feel like it MUST be answered to be considered. I would strongly recommend the mod team remove that question from their application.
Thank you for taking the time to point this situation out to us. It was never our intention to make anyone feel uncomfortable with this type of question. Since receiving this response, the question has been removed from all applications and will no longer be used.
