In a film that is not in your native/preferred language, do you prefer dubbing or subtitles?
Subtitles - still distracting but not as much as voices that don't match the actors' mouth movements.
i'm a heathen when it comes to anime i need the dubbed version. i'm not good at multitasking and reading the subtitles distracts me too me:)
Dubbing works for animated stuff, and I prefer it bc reading ?? G r o s s. Dubbing live-action is usually bad tho, and it'll RUIN something good and make something not-so-good hilarious and entertaining.
I was brought up with dubbed versions and I prefer it most of the time. Though I know from experience that there is something lost that way, but that loss happens also with subtitles mostly.
dubbing
Subtitles.
Dubbing always distracts me with how it bad it tends to be. Plus, I like hearing the flow of the language in comparison to the translation. Its interesting.
In anime I like dubbing (SUE ME) because it's not distracting. Dubbing on actual films is distracting because I can clearly see the mouth movements aren't in sync with the audio, so I'll opt for subs.
