i know the three sample pieces we submit on the google form must only be complete pieces, but can our portfolio contain sketches along side other rendered artworks as well??

Hello! Ideally, your portfolio should contain 7-15 curated and fully rendered pieces that best display your skills, but you are more than welcome to include additional sketches in your portfolio.

How many contributors are you selecting in each category from applications?

Hello! We're looking to accept 14-16 Page Artists, 3-4 Comic Artists, 5 Writers, and 3-4 Merch Artists from applications. This number, however, is subject to change.

If I haven't gotten an acceptance yet as an artist and you're looking for more artist applicants, does that mean I'm rejected from the zine? How many more spots are open after the guests who have already been chosen?

Hi! We don't start sending out any acceptances or rejections until after applications close. After that time, our mods will go through all applications. You will get an email 1-2 weeks after December 4th with your results. We'll also make a post to socials once the emails have been sent!

Seeing that you guys extended applications, if you don’t get enough applicants will you cancel the zine? I hope you don’t! And your faq says the number of contributors could change so I was curious.. excited for this zine! :)

Hi, at the moment we have no intentions of cancelling the zine. Our apps for certain categories were a little low, so we wanted to give people more time to apply. We may adjust contributor numbers though!

i would love to apply but i dont have any art of gojo or geto; is it possible to maybe remove those requirements? ;;

Hello, we're happy to see your enthusiasm for our zine! But we will be keeping this a requirement for all artist applicants to asses whether or not they are the best fit.
Our applications close on December 4th, a little over a week from now, so there is still time to throw together a quick piece featuring one of them!

hi im new to zines, i was wondering if the sample pieces we submit for the artist application are separate from the portfolio? like, are we allowed to include our sample pieces in the portfolio we submit????? also, will the number of pieces in a portfolio matter too? i dont have too many fully-rendered works outside of more recent art because i only just developed my rendering style and i was wondering if that would cause any issues in my application?

Hello! You are allowed to include your sample pieces in your portfolio, but we would also like to see some other examples of your work. Ideally, your portfolio should contain 7-15 curated pieces that best display your skill!

hello i have a question! you said contributors will be judged solely on their application+portfolios etc, but will the quantity of pieces in said portfolio be judged as well? Or will portfolios be judged on quality rather than quantity?

Hello! We will not be judging the quantity of pieces in your portfolio, and quality is definitely better than quantity! You should ensure your portfolio contains a handful of samples (around 7-15) that best display your skill.
