Can you give me one example when lying not only is okay but the right thing to do?

Your sister's psychopathic ex-boyfriend holds you at gunpoint and demands that you tell him where she currently resides..

When I was in 5th grade. My friend was a incredible artist he could draw anything from superheros, monsters to portraits of ppl. So me and him were making a comic book together. He'd draw and I'd write. One day my grandma found the pictures and thought I drew it. She was soo happy and proud. She told everybody look at my grandson the artist. So I could tell her and break her heart or lie so I lied. Anytime I had to " draw" for her I'd go to my room with a blank paper and an hour later I come out with one of his pictures. Till this day she still doesn't know. Id rather her go to her grave thinking im talented than a liar🙂

There can be a moral imperative to disobey an unjust law, so if the police are hunting down someone for such a law and you know where to find them, then deception becomes the moral choice
