Yes, I've played it a bunch (the first one, I don't have a DS), and it's one of my favorite games.

I never played it on the N64, but I got it when it was released on the DS. It was okay but felt a bit dated. The controls weren’t very good on the DS either. I’m sure I would have been blown away if I’d played it when it first came out though.

Not my favorite Mario game, by a good margin, but I recognize its importance in video game history especially in regards to 3D movement and controls.
