Someone I was following on twitter happened to have a link to their retrospring profile. At that time, spring.me was on its last legs and people were discussing where the community could migrate to when it shut down. When I saw the link with 'spring' in the name, I wondered if it was a Q&A site, so I checked it out and it was. I liked what I saw, and because I hadn't seen anybody mentioning it on spring.me, I made a post there asking people to check it out and spread the word if they liked it. When spring.me died, a small part of the community made the jump to retrospring and I felt good about the part I played in that.

@Commons DMed me after spring.me shut down(✔ ☺)
I found out about this retrospring from their twitter account: https://twitter.com/Retrospring/status/847934588269854720
For the first week I figured it would probably be shut down at some point. It only became notable again after kiwi.qa went down.
People did not want it to stop after formspring/spring was gone, and one spring-like page lead to another one. Formspring-Spring-Retrospring-Modernspring-kiwi-Retrospring-kwizqa(?)-?
