Their logo was designed by the president of the National Congress of American Indians. https://youtu.be/40SFqadRTQ0 I don't see it as a problem, but it's up to the owners. From the native perspective, it's by no means clearly one way or the other.
It depends on what the Native Americans actually think. I used to think it was more SJWs looking for something to complain about than anything else (I think i'd heard about the Washington Post's poll result in slag's link), but according to that link poll results vary, from 10% up to like 67% or something of Native Americans being offended, so it's not really clear how Native Americans actually feel about it.
Interesting enough there are no native Americans with red skin and the term has had only a reference to those tribes who used to wear deep red makeup? Whatever. The american government put a law in place that provided a bounty for each killed member of a tribe. As a proof you needed to show the scalp of the dead. The habit of cutting off the skin with hair off of people was an invention by western conquerers who came to kill the natives and made a business out of genocide. From my perspective it should be a simple history lesson that the US started like any other country by killing the natives when they came as conquerers. But we would need to hang Betsy DeVos and others before this can happen. The often mentioned US American "Greatness" based on freedom, democracy and prosperity is delusional as long as you sugar coat the genocide that still is happening.
first I wanted to share this article bc I think it's important to note how actual Native Americans feel about it https://www.wusa9.com/article/news/verify/washington-redskins-former-name-native-americans-polled/65-34f758ac-75c9-4d8e-8e2d-e780b5ab4f3b
but yes, I think it's good. it is a drop in the bucket compared to the all the reparations that Native Americans deserve but there's no harm in getting rid of a literal slur as a sports team name
