Do you think insulting people on the internet should be legal?

Calling someone a twat on twitter is fine. Telling them to kill themselves, or threatening them with rape/violence is not. If it’s not okay to say to someone’s face, it’s not okay to say it to them on the internet.

Manners are not a part of the legal system and the internet is at large an international system uncovered by national legal rules, so there is a lack of regulation what you can do. When you resort to insults of a really bad kind you should be banned or expelled from the platform where you exposed yourself as an uneducated idiot.

Yes. If it wasn't, would all insults be illegal? Imagine being arrested for using a really tame insult like snowflake. Or would there be a list of insults that cross the line? Who decides where that line is drawn?

You shouldn't be on the internet period if you don't have thick enough skin to take an insult. You're brain dead if you think the internet is always nice. I mean fuck them but almost like fuck you too lol

People already insult others on the Internet and it has zero consequences. So what would it change? Anyways, for me it's a no. I won't ever support the lack of respect. Plus, people usually use the insults when they lack arguments to defend their thoughts, opinions or views.

Yes, you fucknut :) Unless its hate speech or other speech related to a crime - people need to relax... fortunately calling you a fucknut isn't quite defamation.

Yes.

I just copped a 30 day ban on facebook for calling somebody who called autism ''fake'' and a ''fashion accessory'' an ignorant mouthbreathing muppet.

If we were to make insulting illegal, that person I was responding to would STILL be able to spout their bs.
