Today is national pet day. How and when were you and your fur babies acquainted?

Both rescues from our county shelter and Humane Society. Dog we got as a pup when she was a few months old— she’s now 12. Cat we got last March. He is now 7 y/o. The cat that I had to put down recently was also a rescue. She lived to a ripe old age of 17 1/2 y/o.

I found out about a bunch of "dick fish" at the local animal shelter that were about to be put down (by the staff eating them, the rumor went) so I decided to rescue them.
Now, I have nearly a dozen or so wangers swimming around in my lovely aquarium.

The last time I had a pet, he was a cat that my girlfriend and I picked out together, I wore a ballcap to the shelter and one of the kittens kept reaching for my cap and swatting at it and he was the one - HE CHOSE ME DAMMIT

We got our cat 2 and a half years ago from her former owner who was having to give up her pets because her ex husband demanded it or she would have to move out of the house they had previously shared.

That ex husband is such an utter cock.

Yoda is a lovely cat, very cuddly. Prolific hunter though.

.. not exactly "fur" .. feathers describe this better in a sense though my chicken is invisible and more of a ghostly type.

One literally showed up in my home after being in the streets for a while, a few years ago, the other was born in 2019

I thought it was national CAT day?

I adopted my lil love bug Olive on Sept 21 three years ago. she was rescued off the streets. i fell in love with her raspy lil meows and her lil nubbin immediately. I mark Sept 21st as her bday so she'll be 17 this year :3
