[From the Netflix series "BoJack Horseman"] Do you ever get the feeling that like, to know you more is to love you less?

Sure, I had that feeling for most of my adolescence and young adulthood. It still pops up here n there. If to know you more is to love you less, then that person really didn't love you. Instead, they loved an idea of you or even just the idea of someone. So I agree with the other part of that scene, "you should never settle for someone who just loves the idea of you."

if the person is insufferable at their core or y'all just aren't a good fit, then yea, but i don't think that applies all the time to knowing someone more

Nah. By then it’s too late bc if you’ve stuck around that long, you already love me and have bonded with me. It’s a trap. 😉

Familiarity breeds contempt. Yes I agree with that, this is why living with someone changes your perception of them. I stopped being friends with someone I've known for the better part of 10 years, wasn't till I spent a week with her in the same hotel room that I realized how awful she was.

I found really a couple of people who on closer contact added a slew of weirdness to their otherwise amiable treats.
