Do you respect [or maybe like] your country's service members? Why?

I can respect people that enlist to better themselves, ie someone of modest means who couldn't afford college any other way.. I also get that it's a commendable sacrifice especially in times of war. I do not however think the military should be glorified or worshipped like it is today and has been since 9/11. That reeks of fascism.

I respect a few. it is heroic to keep a moral compass inside an organisation that just wants you to follow orders.

Mostly they are just people doing the best they can in their circumstances...while some of them are absolutely psychos who were drawn to indiscriminate killing as a career, there are some of those in any group of people...I reserve my judgment for the monied interests who give them orders, they are the amoral architects of death and destruction who must be stopped
