What are some interesting facts about your country that a lot of people don't know about?

Paul Revere only rode from Boston to Cambridge. The book/poem "Paul Revere's Midnight Run" was meant to inspire patriotism and unite people after the end of the American Civil War. This guy was the real hero, hardly anyone knows his name or what he did: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israel_Bissell

We've had running water for over ten years, we have a tunnel connecting us to Peru, and we invented the cat!

People think that since there is no general speed limit on our motorways that they can race through the country everywhere. In fact more than 80% of all motorways have local speed limits, sometimes limiting speed to humble 100 km/h .

Many of the greatest composers of all times were born here: Bach, Händel, Beethoven, Mendelssohn, Schumann, Wagner, Brahms, Strauss. Poland "only" has Chopin but they are so proud of him, it is almost insane. Or if you look how Austria loves Mozart (Born in Salzburg)What about Germany? They don't really care that much. So we are not at all a proud country.
