I was at my doctor this week. There were posters on the wall of the waiting room telling parents to stop looking at their phones and pay attention to their children. Posters saying parents need to play with their children. Posters saying children learn to speak by copying, and that you should speak to your children. How sad is that?
The last couple of days, I’ve paid attention to families when I’ve been in a cafe/restaurant. Yesterday, two parents two young girls: both parents on their phones all the time they weren’t actually eating. The two girls spoke to each other. I could see what the father’s phone, he was on Facebook. Today, two parents one small girl: both parents glued to their phones the entire time I was there. The girl had to get up, go round the table and grab her mother to get her attention. That’s bad. That’s harmful to the children.

Technology isn't good or bad it's a tool … blahblahblah.
Allows encourages slothful behavior. Allows/encourages nosiness. It doesn't obey. It won't install that libraries / interpreter / compiler etc. It continually seeks money, often with minimal/marginal improvements. Features are developed and then removed with little to replace them. Not me, not yet(?) but totalitarian regimes and fear of such? Paranoia about the latter. Sheep, dodos, and lemmings are lead to push toward totalitarianism. etc. etc.
When it makes you blind for the real world.
When that guy in that 32ton fuel transporter lost his track and got close to me in my car.
if you grow dependent on it to feel anything good in your life ("yes, 60 upvotes! thank God, finally some serotonin"), you use it as a tool to harm others or other use it to harm you, you spend so much time on it that you don't know how to cultivate relationships irl ) don't know how to act irl, period .... there are probably a lot of other reasons it'd be bad for someone but I can't think of any more
