"Don't complain. Be grateful." Do you agree with this inspirational message?

Those two things are not mutually exclusive - my grandpa had a saying I'm sure he got elsewhere: content, but never satisfied...you can be OK with what you have and still want and demand more

no I don't and I don't find it inspirational at all. you should always be able to complain if you have problems regardless of someone having it worse, because that's almost always the case.

gratitude in the things going well for you is good tough

This is usually used by by adults when children are disgusted with the quality of something. Also it is used by Employers' association when workers want a raise. It is a dismissive and untrue stance covering sentence usually.

Its good to vent sometimes, but its important to be reasonable about it to. People don't want to pick up your shit... friends will hear you out - but there are limits. And ... gratitude is nice.
