OHHHH ANON I LOVE YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS 😭 first off, sweetheart tart loves picking up little things for affogato at the grandberry market. sweets? trinkets? the poor cookie is on the run, he has nothing! he deserves nice things to cheer him up (definitely no other reason)! sweetheart tart also likes to bake for affogato, and just generally fuss over him a bit... make sure he's comfortable, see if there's anything he needs, They're Just Being A Good Citizen What Do You Mean This Is Over The Top. and then affogato... affogato initially started making the beds and cleaning while sweetheart tart was out as part of his act (even though he hated it), but at some point it became a routine... and then something he actually liked doing. he also sometimes surprises sweetheart tart with dinner (he was canonically all alone for years, I refuse to believe he can't cook!!). and then there are just moments like... affogato reading a book, and sweetheart tart watching him with a soft gaze before writing down new lines for a poem in their notebook. it's soft. it's sweet. it then all goes horribly horribly wrong but yeah 😭

I'M BLOODY LATE RESPONDING TO THIS BUT LET'S GOOOO..... I don't think this things lets me do paragraphs so forgive me. burke nose guy?? weird thing to ask, but as stated in my carrd, I don't like strangers being overfamiliar, and randomly being DMed by someone I've never spoken to before in my life and asked if I RP with no context definitely counts as that. given I've now had ten whole people telling me similar stories (including that this rando wanted to ERP with people???) I'm pretty content with my decision to block. I can tell this is probably going to result in my inbox being spammed by them and their mates, so this is the only question I'll answer on the subject. any further questions will be deleted. I can only suggest that a) you learn about boundaries, and how doing this may make people uncomfortable, and b) you realise that blocking or not being replied to is not a crime, or the end of the world. basically... chill out, my guy. whew.

tl;dr version: once upon a time, luca balsa's dad had a sister who ran away, fell into poverty, and ultimately became a prostitute. it was then that she had a child... this child was taken away to grow up in white sand street orphanage, and told his mother had died in childbirth. this was bertie
bertie had a rough time in white sand, as most of the kids did, and he still harbours very mixed and complicated feelings about kreacher. he was the closest thing bertie had to a father figure, and he could tell kreacher did what he could to keep the orphanage running, but his temper was not the best.
eventually, bertie was hired out of WSSO as a teenager and sent to work for the woman who became his mistress. it was there that his current attitude towards himself and his "betters" was really solidified. some of the other servants did treat him kindly (for example the cook, who spoiled him a little by making cherry cake as a treat sometimes) but he never really had a proper home life, so to speak.
so yeah. poor bertie... 😭
