Hello!
Yes, we will have a brief leftover sales period after our shipping period ends! Thank you for your interest and support of STYLISH!
hello! not a question, i just wanted to say i'm really looking forward to pre-ordering Stylish! when it comes out and i've been enjoying all the contributor spotlights that are leading up to the release!!! the posts do a great job of getting me more excited haha, the template is super cute, it's fun reading a bit of an intro to the contributors, and everyone's sample creations are adorable n gorgeous! i hope the mods and creators are doing well, i'm supporting you all from the shadows~
Thank you so much! We will make sure not to disappoint! Please look forward to the exciting items we have available!
What was the thought process behind accepting 25 page artists despite getting over 200 applicants for it? That seems surprisingly low. I'm really excited for this project though!
Hello! Thank you for your question and your interest in STYLISH!
There are a lot of factors that are going behind our decided number of contributors. Our number one priority is being able to reimburse all contributors with a full bundle to the best of our ability. With every contributor we accept, we have to add more pages to the zine and cover another a full bundle— which includes the zine, all merchandise items, packaging, and shipping. As excited and overjoyed we were to receive so many contributor applications, we cannot guarantee that the contributor interest will reflect the actual buyer interest— and this is why we maintained our firm stance on the number of contributors accepted.
We would have absolutely loved to add more contributors! We genuinely can't express enough how painful the contributor selection process was between all of the mods, because we were able to picture every contributor who applied as a part of the zine. But we want to make sure that we remain financially cautious and stay well above water, and focus on our priority of being able to give back to our contributors who are working so hard to make the zine happen!
All remaining funds not used for manufacturing or shipping will be donated to a charity of the contributor's choice.
We thank you for your understanding on this matter!!
hi! im interested in applying as a page artist but was a little confused by the app guide. in the general guidelines it says that prsk pieces are only recommended but in the artist guidelines it says at least one example HAS to be prsk/vocaloid. is it ok if i dont have any prsk/vocaloid examples? i dont have a ton of finished prsk/vocaloid art as i havent had much time to finish personal art lately.
Hello! Thank you for your interest in our zine!
We apologize sincerely for the confusion in our application guidelines vs. the application! The original wording of the guide said, "It is entirely acceptable if not all of your selected samples are PRSK-related, but we recommend that you are familiar with PRSK and have drawn/written PRSK before." With this, we meant that it is okay if there is only one PRSK piece in your portfolio compared to pieces from other franchises. We understand entirely if this was confusing or unclear! We have adjusted the wording of our guide to reflect our application.
For page art and writers, we require at least one PRSK/Vocaloid piece. For merchandise artists, we do not require a PRSK/Vocaloid related piece. The exception exists for merchandise artists because we acknowledge that not all merchandise artists have made designs/merchandise for PRSK specifically before.
We apologize sincerely for the inconvenience!
is this a digital or physical zine?
Hello! This zine will be distributed both digitally and physically!!
helloooo id just like to ask what do “pitches” mean? i saw it in the google form and since im applying as a page artist i would like to know ! im a bit new to this stuff so ^^”
A pitch is essentially what you'd like to contribute to the zine! For example, an artist may say "I'd like to draw the Hinomori siblings in punk fashion" or a writer may say "I want to write about how Mizuki vs Akito would put an outfit together".
This pitch helps us visualize what you might like to contribute to the zine! However, it's not finalized— so you can change your pitch upon acceptance!
If you are struggling with coming up with a pitch, please be assured that you will not be rejected based on your pitch. In the case of all applicants, the content of your portfolio is more important and outweighs the pitch. The pitch is only supplemental to help us visualize the role you could play in the zine.
Hi! I'm considering to apply as a page artist. It is stated in the guide that a portfolio is highly recommended, but I have zero experience in portfolios, so I would like to know how much of an influence it has on the selection of contributors, or if is there a difference between only submitting the three works required, and providing a portfolio. Thanks!
Hello! Thank you for your interest in STYLISH!
Page artists are required to submit at least three works in one portfolio, and at least one piece must be a Project Sekai/VS related piece. Please at least three pieces in one collection for us to view; this can be a Google Drive folder, Twitter Moment, website, Tumblr tag, Instagram page, etc. as long as it's a designated place for all of your artwork.
The accessible guide was not updated at the same time as the Contributor Application and the other guide. We apologize for any confusion this has caused you!
hi! i think the mobile friendly version of the FAQ hasn’t been updated? the new mods aren’t listed :(
Hello!
Apologies for this! The mobile friendly version has been updated. Thank you for bringing this to our attention!
About the “Check-ins” said in the schedule… does this mean during the “check-ins” is when we’ll be making/starting our work? I just want to make sure that this doesn’t interfere with my personal school schedule and such.
Hello! Thank you for your question and interest in our project!
Zine "check-ins" refer to checkpoints in the zine's schedule, in which we'll be "checking in" with contributors to make sure everything is coming along smoothly! The creation period of the zine starts once pitches are approved and finalized (begins October 9th). The first check-in is a month later, on November 7th. At this time, we want to make sure at least 25% of everyone's pieces are completed (sketch or 25% of writing piece). Then at the next check-in on December 7th, we would like 50% of the work to be completed (lineart or equivalent, or 50% of writing piece). And so on. Contributors are more than welcome to ask for extensions during check-ins.
However, if no work is produced by roughly the second or third check-in, we will have to ask the contributor if they would still like to be in the project or if we will have to request a pinch-hitter to replace them.
All pieces will be due on February 11th, 2023, and we would like to request everyone to be completed with their work at this time so we can begin formatting. However, we have allotted an extended time after final check in just in case anyone needs a little more time.
In short, check-ins are just to make sure everyone is on top of their work. We would like everyone to be on time, but everyone is more than welcome to request an extension if needed!
