What's a random hobby of yours?
໒꒰◞ ˕ ◟ ྀི꒱ა QOTD !
꒰ do you collect things ? if so , what do you collect ?
Old-fashioned alarm clocks, the round kind with bells that you wind up (I have 8 of them, about 5 of them antique, plus two miniature ones), old and collector's item Coke bottles, most of them full (I have two closet shelves full of them), baseball caps of all kinds (I have over 100), bracelets and rings (I don't set out to collect them, I just can't help but buy them when I see good ones in case I might wanna wear them) (I have a small box full of them), colorful aluminum wallets, such as one depicting the Monet painting with the bridge (again, I didn't set out to collect them, I just couldn't decide which one I wanted), sunglasses (same reason) (I have maybe around 10 of them), colorful bucket hats {same reason) (I have maybe 11 of them), maybe you could say I collect clothes I like, since I currently have 7 hampers full, rocks, gems, stones, minerals, glass diamonds, and other pretty things (I have two unusually large shelves full of them, at least three of the crystals are worth hundreds of dollars), books (only books I plan to read, but often I never do, but many of them I have read) (I probably have over 200 of them), pretty stuffed animals (I have two of those large shelves full of them and then some, one teddy bear I've had since I was 5), birthday cards and other handwritten messages I've gotten over the years, vinyl records (I have at least two milk crates full of them, but the cats ruined all the edges of the sleeves, but I also have a few special ones in good condition, including two cylindrical Edison records ;/)
I used to collect different kinds of lights, for example a strobe light, a rotating beacon light, barricade lights, and a street light complete with the dish that it goes in to direct the light and a large transformer to power it with standard house electricity, but I don't have most of those anymore (I still have a strobe light, a newer one, and the street light, but I don't know if it still works. Oh, and also I have a few new lights as room decor such as 16 Nanoleaf hexagon lights and a few other color-changing lights that project or light up the room in some way), and I collected soda can tabs at one point, I had hundreds of them, and I collected pennies at one point, I had over 2000 of them in a large clear glass piggy bank, and I have a jumbo sized Easter egg filled with foreign coins and other valuable coins such as a steel penny from the war and a set of tiny miniature US coins somewhere.
Aww, why did Pop Crave get banned? It was just a parody account.
Slightly ranty question: if you earn money by working on social media, it's your job to capitalize (maximize engagement) on any platform you find, including platforms which weren't made to be capitalized, which can generate annoying results. Do you think such a thing should be allowed? Weigh in your opinions!
I agree it would suck if somebody did that, or if people routinely do that, but I don't think it should be illegal or against ToS or whatever. First, that would be too totalitarian. It kind of reminds me of Brazil's recent law that illegalized lying. Or that dream I once had of the future which, among other properties, had the attribute that insulting people was illegal. And 2. there could never be a clear and objective way of saying when somebody's posts were merely or primarily aimed at maximizing engagement. That's totally a judgment call.
Not necessarily. Correlation is not necessarily causation, meaning that just because they're correlated doesn't mean that lowering the employment rate would necessarily increase financial and economical performance. For example, one underlying factor could be responsible for both of those trends, or financial and economical performance could cause low employment. And I have no idea why the two things are negatively correlated.

❝What's Your Favorite
⠀ Song Genres.ᐣ❞
Most of my favorite songs are from a wide variety of genres, genres which I probably don't like most music from.. but there are a few genres I particularly like, in that I like most music from them. psychill, goa-psy trance, nitzhogoa, hard dance, and some varieties of jazz, especially bebop, hard bop, and modern vocal jazz. Some other genres I tend to like are indie electronica, chillout dreams (di.fm), and deep tech (di.fm).
What's your favorite text editor, if any? I like Vim.
I usually just use Notepad, it's quick and easy to start up and use, sometimes I have to use Wordpad, I forget why, maybe for RichText, or because it handles files with only LF's and no CR's better than Notepad (unless Notepad has change since then), but I haven't really used Wordpad in years. For more involved stuff, like writing my book of essays, I use Word.
On Linux I use gedit, which is basically a small Notepad clone. I really don't like the way nano, vim, etc. work, it's not intuitive, everything takes thought and effort, and also experimentation since I cba to read the manual.
