Also, sorry for asking another clarification question, but on the info doc it says to use 12 pt Ariel font and on the website it says to use 12 pt Verdana font. Which should be used?
Thank you for pointing that out! It should be Verdana, but we won't be too picky as long as it's readable

Uwahh, this is such an exciting concept!!! Quick clarification question, on the reviewer's app it says to keep review samples under 1.5k words, but on the guidelines it says the 2-3 other pieces of writing should be no more than 2k each. Is the 1.5k word limit only for the novel review or for all 3 of the samples?

If we haven't read a modern danmei just traditional, can we still apply for the zine?
For reviewers, we require you to already be familiar with the series you are reviewing, so it may be a bit difficult for you to apply unless you decide to binge some series? For artists, we don't require specific samples of series, so you could technically apply without knowledge and collaborate closely with a reviewer.

I think this is super awesome idea and I'm looking forward to this zine! I was just wondering, are you looking for one review per novel in the zine or will there be multiple reviews per novel? How will you choose the reviews/reviewers?
We will attempt to have about 2 reviews per novel, ideally with each reviewer writing multiple reviews, but this may also be adjusted depending on if we have enough applications. We will slightly favor reviewers who can cover a wider range of series to review for logistical reasons, but it is more important to us that the reviews are easy to read (little spelling/grammar errors), easy to understand for people new to the series, properly point out warnings if a series warrants warnings, and entertaining to read.

Would it be possible to do a zine-linked ao3 collection where fic writers can submit their stories about the series in the zine? I think it would be a very fun addition and wouldn’t take too much effort
Hello! We're not sure if you're also the anon who put a comment on our interest check with a similar suggestion, but we really appreciate your suggestion! We would love to inspire more fics being written for any series featured in the zine. The mod team will discuss trying to incorporate this idea! If you are a writer and interested in this, we would also love to hear your opinion on this idea.

do novels that combine both modern and ancient (written only as flashbacks) aspects such as Lie Huo Jiao Chou, Zhenhun, Panguan, etc can be included in this zine? Thank you very much!
Yes, we would count series that are mainly set in modern but with ancient flashbacks!

hi, i’m so very interested in applying to be a reviewer when the time comes. just a question - most of my favorite novels are already on the organizers’ recommendation list. would i be able to write a review on any of those, or should i focus on a novel that hasn’t been brought up yet?
Yes, you are free to write reviews on series that are on the organizer's rec lists!

Do the modern danmei have to be novels? I read a lot of modern danmei manhua through the bilibili app and they are not all novel based.
Hello! For this time, we would prefer the danmei to be novel-based to keep things a little more narrow, but if this first run of the project turns out well we'd be open to broadening things!

Yes! Even if we end up going physical on interest check, we plan to have an online copy available for free download after sales are over.
