hi!! is it ok to ask how many apps you received in total?
We received 169 apps! You can look at our pinned post for more of a breakdown
hi!! how will you be deciding the cover artist amongst contributors?? i applied as a page artist and i'd be interested in doing cover ksddjkls
Yup! Cover artist will be amongst contributors. When contributors fill out their acceptance form, they can indicate that they are interested in doing the cover and we'll let the chosen contributor know once all the acceptance forms are in
I applied for both page and merch artist positions but my merch application was submitted after the said deadline. Will I be disqualified from doing so?
As long as you squeezed it in before they were closed, you're fine!
hello! can we apply to more than one position?
Yes! You can apply to more than one position!
Will you reject contributors if they ship “problematic” pairings
Hello anon! That should not be a worry. As we've stated in other asks, our app judging is semi-anonymous with all applicants only being marked with a number and their samples/portfolio so our primary focus is the quality of your work.
Of course, we also expect all contributors to respect that our zine is SFW with no pairings when making their zine piece. We hope everyone, no matter what they ship, can get along professionally through our mutual love for Shouyou 🍊
hello! will pinch hitter emails be specific to them or will it be a generic "if you expressed interest, you may be contacted at a later date"? thanks!
Pinch hitter emails will be specific to them!
hello! sorry im new to this, i was wondering how you decide your stretch goals and which merch artists get to do that?
Hello! We will be deciding what items will end up in the zine partially based on our top applicants' preferences on their application and what they decide to pitch. For example, if you say you want to do acrylic charm, stickers, prints, and the beach bag for your application, we'll ask you to jot down your ideas for each of those and mods will choose/assign merch based on everyone's proposed pitch ideas. All merch artists will be assigned 2-3 pieces of merch. If we don't get a good applicant or pitch for an item we may not do the item, and generally we will avoid giving an artist all stretch goal items or multiple items with a lot of work. The mod team is also generally going to try to limit the merch line-up to not weigh too much for shipping and not cost too much for customers, so when we do assignments we will be heavily considering these factors and not going crazy approving like 2 beach bags and 4 big standees.
As for what items end up being the stretch goals, we do tend to put items that require a higher production quantities for stretch goals such as enamel pins or washi. We also like to do smaller cheap flat items like stickers/prints as stretch goals that can be added to any order at little cost. So really, anything can end up as a stretch goal but we will be informing the artist of it beforehand and we try not to assign any artist more than one stretch goal. Sorry if this was a bit long-winded, but hopefully you found an answer somewhere in this!
hi! i plan to apply i'm just really busy rn and to let you know my app will probably get submitted near the last day but that is not for any lack of passion for shoyou! i love him! sorry for the wait i will do my best, and i'm serious about the app and want to show you my best. thanks!
No worries anon, lots of people apply near the end. We adore your love for Shouyou, best of luck to you 🧡 🧡
hi!! will pinch hitters get emails as well? like will they be informed that theyre pinch hitters / waitlisted in the email
Yes, all applicants will receive an email response and pinch hitters will specifically be notified!
hello! can i ask if your cover artist will also be expected to make page art (separate from the cover) or are they only doing the cover?
Hello! The cover artist would only be expected to make the cover
Hello. Would it be okay if not all of my pieces for artist application Hinata/ Haikyuu related? or if I am not a big account (especially in haikyuu fandom) ? Thank you
Yes, it's not required for you to have any hinata/haikyuu pieces for applications! We do recommend you have at least one work that is hinata/haikyuu-related, but our judging won't change much for not having more than one and we won't disqualify applicants for not having any.
Also, it's totally fine if you aren't a big account! All our apps are graded semi-blind (everyone is re-labeled as Writer1/Writer2/etc) with Mod Gumi primarily handling looking at the unblinded list in case someone needs to be contacted for application fixes/questions - so we really do not look at your following. We just care about how well you write/draw Hinata.
hi! how many writers and artists are you expecting to accept to the zine? thanks :)
Hello! We plan to bring on around 25-30 artists, 5-6 writers, and 4-5 merch artists depending on our application count. You can also look at our interest check for more details:

hi the mods are so cool thats all have a nice day
Thank you lovely anon! 🥺
Hello! <3 I would love to try to apply myself as a writer, the problem is that English is not my first language. I am quite confident in my abilities using my first language, and I often translate my texts into English. However, during the translation, there's always something a bit off in some sentences. By any chance, will there be beta readers? Thank you! <3
Hello! No worries, our writing mod (Vins / @mortalatte) will be beta reading all the fics, and we have a few other mods willing to pitch in if anyone wants a different set of eyes as well!
I sent in an application as a page artist, but I never received an email with my response. Would it be ok to reapply?
Yes! Feel free to send a reapplication - this applies to anyone who wants to edit or update their application! We will only judge the most recent application associated with your email.
