Hello everyone, I would like to discuss the unprofessionalism and unfairness of the Rentry support system, as well as the vulnerabilities of Rentry’s services & method of verification.

Recently, a url I owned was illegitimately taken from me. The person, I have no idea who, used an old username I had linked on my pronouny.xyz, using this to assume my identity & “verify” to support that they “owned” my url, successfully claiming it as theirs.

When I discovered this, I immediately assumed my url was reclaimed through the claim system, so I asked support for help. To my surprise I was met with it being stolen, not reclaimed. So of course, I provided as much proof as possible that I owned the url; I offered to verify TWO other websites that I had linked, as well as showing that I owned the files for the graphics, AND that I knew the previous password. You’d think this had have been enough evidence, however both Matt and Sarah were adamant that there was nothing they could do and they had no proof I was owner. I went to lengths of even telling them my legal name which was what my password was based on, I was more than willing to even show my ID (Though I did not state this). I asked if they could look at the edit IP addresses, which is something that is literally stated they can do on the verification guide.

This behavior is sickening, & shows that there are major security flaws within Rentry’s claim & support system. I am the rightful owner, yet despite showing so much evidence, I have been left with nothing due to a small error that I made.

If the person who took https://rentry.co/iv from me sees this, I genuinely hope you are happy with your greed. I have no idea if this action was targeted against me as a person, or if you were so desperate for a url that you thought it would be okay to pretend to be me. If you have it in your heart to return the url to me, I will give anything in return. As for Matt and Sarah, I am extremely disappointed by the lack of assistance given in this situation, and the refusal to work with me whatsoever.
